Jomsom is the capital of Mustang district, and is known as the”windy valley”. Jomsom is located 2800meter above sea level in a valley settled upon the bank of tne Holy Kaligandaki River. Its inhabitants are the Thakali,who are a very famous ethnic group of Nepal and previously only settled in Thak Khola, but have now spread intoslightly more modernized parts of Nepal. Jomsom is the gateway to the “Upper Mustang Trek”, which is a restricted area and requires a special permit to enter.
Jomsom Trek is known as a trekkers paradise because of its varied topography and numerous placesof interest. The Jomsom valley trek begins from either Jomsom (after taking flight from Pokhara) or from Birethanti (after an hour and half bus ride from Pokhara). On the way, one can enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas while walking through the world’s deepest gorge at Dana. At the same time, you canstop atahot spring at Tatopani, which is believed to wash awaysins in the purifying waters. Most of the trek is along the river of Kaligandaki, where one can find Shaligram (fossils),black stonesthat reveal different patterns once broken open. The trek to Jomsom leads you all the way to Muktinath (God of Salvation), which is one of the most popular Hindu temples of Nepal, featuring pagoda-style templesand Buddhist Gompas. There are 108 images around the temple and three natural fires (Jwalamai), which are easily viewable from inside the Gompas. This is the adventure of a lifetime, fusing interesting elements of Nepalese culture and beautiful nature.

Foods and Accommodation
In Kathmandu we use tourist standard hotel to ensure a comfortable stay and relaxed environment before and after your adventure. All breakfasts are included at the hotel in Kathmandu. Rooms are generally twin share – depending on group size and room availability, triple share may be offered up on your request. A single supplement room is available at an additional cost for accommodation and required expenses during the trek to provide good quality food and services. For breakfast you expect to have porridge, toast or chapattis, omelet and local bread. We will provide all meals on full board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and tea & coffee) from the tea house menu during the trekking period. Whilst trekking on Annapurna, the accommodation is in guesthouses or Lodges which are basic with shared facilities. Some lodges offers shower and mostly offers bucket hot water up on request. During the trip you can expect for 2 times hot shower.
Your health and safety are always major concern while traveling with A One Treks. Please note that your leader/guide has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure leads to travel in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deflect from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary.
The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be adjustable if required.
